“I never imagined how powerful just the right lighting could be and I thought that all landscape architects understood the ‘right’ amount of light to use for their plans. Unfortunately, this was not the case when I started by project. You can imagine my dismay, as I walked around the first night, only to encounter ground level lighting that was blinding my next step. My yard is not flat, so I have to address the undulating flagstone and charming multi-leveled terraces. Illuminating these areas is critical for the safety of my guests. Thank God for the Internet and for my finding Mark Carlson of Avalon Lighting Design. Mark eliminated the glare by repositioning the lights high into the trees and then aimed them down to softly light the walkways. Magic!
